ReCreate: Recycled Arts & Craft Supply Program
Welcome to our ReCreate program! We work to make arts and crafts supplies available to everyone through the process of donation of supplies, pop-up events where supplies are available, and offering art supplies for a monetary donation of what you want to give.
How does it work?
Who: Our art therapists or interns will plan a pick up for supplies which are donated, or supplies may be dropped off at our art supply donation spots (when available).
What: Any and all art supplies are welcomed for donation. Our most commonly desired supplies are listed in the document below. Our team of volunteers takes these supplies to pop-up events where they are purchased (if able) for any amount of money the artist or crafter believes they want to, or are able to pay for the item(s).
Payments may be made by cash or Venmo.
Where/When: Pop-up events, festivals, arts events, etc. Follow us on @acornstooaksservices on Facebook or Instagram to see where we will be next. We hope to have a permanent home base in 2027!
Why: Arts and Craft supplies are expensive, and many of us end up with leftover supplies we never touch; leftover yarn, inherited half completed cross stitch, crayons that are broken, paint we hated, brushes we don’t like, supplies we bought for classes which haven’t been touched in years, random pieces of mosaic, etc.
Our goal is to give these supplies renewed life, offer artists and crafters the opportunity to practice their craft without financial constraints, and recycle items that might otherwise end up in our trash/landfills.
